The Road to Freedom

(I came up with this poem around the exam period, and only just realised it had been sitting in my folder.)

So many things to read
So many things to know
To the ends of the world
That I may go
To seek for what I
Truly want to find
Always moving forward
Not needing to look behind
The journey is tough
The road arduous and tiring
But look right here
The sun is rising

I never will know
What that lies ahead
And still will not
Even till I'm dead
I know what I want
But here's the downside:
For man may plan wonders
Yet time still decides

So grant me the patience
Grant me the strength
Grant me perserverence
To bear odds at length
I shall not falter
I shall not slip
As I work my way
Towards a scholarship
